Lermontov's Trip to Georgia (7 Days)

Day 1 |
Arrival to Tbilisi Airport, where you will be met by the representatives of Concord Travel Co.: tour manager and guide. Transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 2 |
Kazbegi Tour. Tour starts in Dariali gorge, where is situated Queen Tamar’s Fortress on high cliffs. Also there is Gveleti fortress on the left bank of Tergi river dated back to 1st c. BC. here you can see the small river-Gveletistskali coming from the fascinating waterfall. Then visit Gergeti Trinity Church (14th century.) The church is situated on the right bank of the river Chkheri at an elevation of 2400 meters. Go over Mt. Kazbegi glacier and have the rest there.

Day 3
|
Kazbegi-Sioni. Visit beautiful places in 2-3 km. form Kazbegi. Here you will see old fortresses and Sioni Church (11th c.) with Georgian basilica. Visit Pasanauri-beautiful resort of eastern Georgia. En rout to Tbilisi you will have the chance to visit Ananuri Church Complex (17th c.).
Overnight in Tbilisi.

Day 4
|
Today visit Mtskheta-old capital of Georgian Kingdom of Iberia. Here you will have the chance to explore old Georgian cultural monuments, such as Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th c.); Samtavro monastery and Jvari Monastery (6th c.), where the main plot of Lermontov’s poem “Mtsiri” have had the place here.
Night tour in Tbilisi. Tbilisi is one of the oldest cities in the world. According to archeological excavation this place was settled 4th Millennium BC. Tbilisi is Georgia’s capital city since 6th c. In Tbilisi visit Narikala fortress the city’s main citadel, which dates from the 4th century AD; Metekhi church (13th c.); Tbilisi Sulfur Baths (7th-8th cc.).

Day 5
|
Drive 180 km. to Tsinandali- the village in Kakheti region of Georgia, noted for the estate and its historic winery which once belonged to the 19th-century aristocratic poet Alexander Chavchavadze. Here is the wine cellar where you will be able to taste real Georgian wine.
Overnight in Tbilisi hotel.

Day 6 |
Tbilisi. Today you will have the chance to explore the places where Lermontov have visited during his stay in Georgia. Dinner in Georgian restaurant to taste national dishes and wine again.

|
Free time. Leving Party & Dinner at the Georgian National Restaurant.
Transfer to the Airport for departure.
