Day 1

Arrival to Tbilisi Airport, where you will be met by the representatives of Concord Travel Company. Departure to Telavi.

Overnight in Telavi.

Day 2 Telavi sightseeings – Alaverdi Cathedral – Abano Pass – Omalo Village.
  • Telavi is the main city and administrative center of Georgia's eastern province of Kakheti. Its population consists of some 21,800 inhabitants. The city is located on foot-hills of Tsiv - Gombori Range at 490 m above the sea level. First archaeological findings from Telavi date back to Bronze Age.
  • Alaverdi. Earliest structures of Alaverdi monastery date back to 6th century. The present day surviving cathedral is part of an 11th century Georgian Orthodox monastery. Located in 20 km from Telavi, in the Kakheti region of Eastern Georgia.

Day 3 Omalo – Dartlo – Parsma – Girevi –Khevsureti through Atsunta Pass.
  • Khevsureti is a historic province in eastern Georgia, located along both the northern and southern slopes of the Great Caucasus Mountains. The name means a land of valleys in Georgian and first appears in the fifteenth century. Comprising the small river valleys of the Ardoti, Shatili, Arkhoti and the Aragvi, the province borders with Chechnya and is included in the present day Dusheti district, Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, Georgia. The province covers 405.3 square miles (1050 km²), with a winter population of approximately 3,200 people. The largest villages are Barisakho and Shatili.

Day 5 Mutso Village – Shatili Village.
  • Shatili is a historic highland village in Georgia, near the border with Chechnya. It is located on the northern slope of the Greater Caucasus mountains, in the historical Georgian province of Upper Khevsureti, which is now part of the modern-day region (mkhare) of Mtskheta-Mtianeti. Located in the deep Arghuni gorge at approximately 1,400 meters, the village is actually a unique complex of medieval-to-early modern fortresses and fortified dwellings of stone and mortar which functioned both as a residential area and a fortress guarding the northeastern outskirts of the country. The fortress consists of the terraced structures dominated by flat-roofed dwellings and some 60 towers which cluster together to create a single chain of fortifications. Shatili is still inhabited by a dozen or so families, but is inaccessible by road during wintertime. The village is a favourite destination for tourists and mountain trekkers.

Bear Jvari Pass. Barisakho – Chargali (the most beautiful village of Pshavi).

Day 7

Kazbegi – Sioni Church – Sameba Church in Gergeti Village.

Day 8 Deaprture to Tbilisi – Ananuri Church – Mtskheta – Svetitskhoveli – Jvary Monasteries. Night Tbilisi Tour. Leaving dinner at one of the best National Restaurants. Overnight in Tbilisi Guesthouse.
  • Mtskheta is one of oldest cities of the country of Georgia (in Kartli province of Eastern Georgia), near Tbilisi. Mtskheta was a capital of the Georgian Kingdom of Iberia during the 3rd century BC - 5th century AD. Here Georgians accepted Christianity in 317 and Mtskheta still remains the headquarters of the Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church.
  • Jvari or Jvari Monastery is a Georgian Orthodox monastery of the 6th century near Mtskheta (World Heritage site), Mtskheta-Mtianeti region, eastern Georgia. The name is translated as the Monastery of the Cross. For another, Jerusalem-located Georgian monastery with the same name.
  • Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, built in the 11th century. Though the site itself is even older dating back to the early 4th century and is surrounded by a number of legends associated primarily with the early Christian traditions. Svetitskhoveli, known as the burial site of Christ's mantle, has long been the principal Georgian church and remains one of the most venerated places of worship to this day. The church is in UNESCO world heritage sites.

Day 9 Leisure Day in Tbilisi.
  • Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia. The city covers an area of 372 km² (144 square miles) and has 1,093,000 inhabitants. Founded in the 5th century AD by Vakhtang Gorgasali, the Georgian King of Kartli (Iberia) and made into a capital in the 6th century, Tbilisi is a significant industrial, social, and cultural center.
  • Anchiskhati Church, built in 5th-6th centuries, is situated in Old Tbilisi. It is triple-nave basilica.
  • Sioni Cathedral –was initially built in the 6th-7th centuries. Since then, it has been destroyed by foreign invaders and reconstructed by Georgians several times. The current church is based on a 13th-century version with some changes from the 17th to the 19th centuries.
  • Old Tbilisi & Sulphury Baths – Foundation of Tbilisi and origin of the word itself is related with these sulphury baths. According to a legend, King Vakhtang Gorgasali stumbled upon warm sulphury spring while hunting. “Tbilisi” is derived from the word “tbili” that means “warm”.
  • Narikala Castle exists here since the middle of the 4th century. It was occupied by Iranian, North Caucasian and Byzantine, Arab conquerors in various periods of time. Royal palace was also resided here. Church of St. Nickoloz was built within the castle in 13th century. It was rebuilt in the latter half of 20th century.
  • Metechi Church of Holy Virgin - built in 5th century and rebuilt in 13th century. Royal palace was situated here before moving to Narikala Castle. Metechi is a central-domed church.
  • Sameba - Holy Trinity Cathedral, called as “The Millennium Building”. Sameba is the greatest Orthodox Cathedral in Georgia and Caucasus. It represents the synthesis of cross–domed and central-domed churches. It is 100 meters in height.
