There are a lot of words could be used describing Georgia, but most common what everyone, who even once been in Georgia, will say immediately are: sunny and generous hospitality. Even it’s simple and banal description, lets remember that the most truly thing are usually hidden in the simple words. Just it will not be exaggeration to add the words like “resplendent, attractive and cordial”.

Any Georgian holds in his heart, the view of geographical contour of Georgia, spread from the Nord-West of Great Caucasus to the South-East and washed by the Black Sea from the west. Circled by the mountain range of Great and Small Caucasus, you can see the marvelous view of Georgia crossed in the middle by river Mtkvari, like a fairy tale carpet,painted in any possible colours of nature.

The geographical position of Georgia, mentioned above, predetermined also the climate of country. The range of Great Caucasus blocks and protects the country from the penetration of cold mass of air from Nord, and in the other hands the range of Small Caucasus protects from the penetration of hat mass of air from the South. Thereby in the western regions dominates the subtropical climate meanwhile the central and eastern regions has pleasant continental climate.

Travelling to Georgia, you will see that our land of is rich by natural beauties, but no only. Nowadays every region of Georgia offers to its visitors plenty of interesting things. In Dmanisi, region of Kvemo-Kartli, during archeological excavations were discovered the remains of primeval humans of 1, 7 million years old, whereas previous finds in Europe were just million years old. Thus, Georgia is considered as the homeland of first Europeans.

Centuries-old history of Georgia was repeatedly told by historians, chronologists, liberators and ordinary citizens is the subject of proud of any Georgian. This scent of history you can feel in any spot of our 15- centuries- old capital city Tbilisi. Here in the old part of Tbilisi you can find monuments from the different centuries, the living witnesses of many hard and bloody periods of its live.

We would like to tell you the story of the Sioni Cathedral, which was destroyed many times during ages, but there was once most weired one,by telling of about, the tires appears in the eyes of any Georgian. …It was 1226… invasion of the khazars shah Jallal-Ed-Din in Tbilisi… Shah commanded to destroy the dome of Cathedral, put under his sofa for having a “great” view of fact of self-sacrificing of Georgians who by the cost of their lives saved their faith and refuted to accept Muslim. Tortured and executed people were thrown out from the bridge of Metekhi to the river Mtkvari which coloured in red by the blood of people and thousands of headless coupes were adrift.

So dear gests and visitors of Georgia if you will notice the tears in the eyes of your tour guide during the telling this story, please don’t blame him in the hypocrisy and exagerrated sentimentality, just remember that the story of Georgia is written with blood in the heart of any Georgian.
