Racha-Lechkhumi are famous with
wine producing. The food, wine
and unique traditions of these
regions are there in all walks
of life to be enjoyed by
everyone again and again.
Traveling with us you'll enjoy

wineries. You'll discover as the
small unknown producers, as well
the world famous Georgian Brand
Companies. You will meet local
winemakers and be invited into
the vignerons’ homes. On this
vacation you'll enjoy lunches,
dinners, informal picnics and
large tasting as guests of the

is not possible if you are
traveling alone in other wine
country, even if you visit the
best cellars.

Arrival in
Tbilsi
Meeting at the airport. Check-in at
the hotel.

Day 2 |

Tbilisi /
Gurjaani / Telavi
Drive to Kakheti, famous for its
ancient winegrowing traditions and
hospitality. We’ll visit Wine House
Gurjaani, which produces its own
vintage wine, decorated with
appropriate etiquette and production
history. Professional sommelier will
lead the wine tasting for us. We
attend the brewing of Georgian Vodka
("zavodoba"), which is very
interesting process. We will also
see how the traditional Georgian
bread is baked and Churchkhela is
made. Visit the double cupola Church
Kvelatsminda (all saints, 8th-9th
c.c.). Before visiting the Nekresi
and Gremi Monastery Complexes, we’ll
drive to a small, beautiful
Kakhetian town Kvareli. Tasting of a
dry red wine Kindzmarauli. The next
place, where we’ll have the wine
tasting, is the Twins’ Cellar in
Napareuli.

Day 3 |

Napareuli /
Lopota / Telavi
Today we drive to make taste wine
and enjoy the one of the most
beautiful lakes, called Lopota. Our
next host in Kakheti is a wine
factory Badagoni, in the village of
Khodasheni. Company, previously
known as Knight of Winemaking, is a
Georgian wine producer. The company
was founded in the Kakhetian village
of Zemo Khodasheni in 2002.
Currently it owns more than 3 km of
vineyards of selected local grape
varieties in the districts of
Khvareli, Mukuzani, Akhasheni, Akura
and Ojaleshi. Its products include
such brands as Tsinandali, Mukuzani,
Kindzmarauli, Gurjaani, Saperavi,
Akhasheni and more. Next place for
our visit is the wine cellar of
Alaverdi Monastery. It was built in
the 15th century, was a period of
political and economic rising of
Kakheti Kingdom; Alaverdi Cathedral
(11th c.); Ikalto (5th c.) and
Shuamta ( 5th-17th c.c.) Monastery
Complexes. Wine tasting at the
Telavi Wine Cellar, founded in 1915.
The Company combines the art of
ancient traditions with the modern
technologies in Georgian winemaking.

Day 4 |

Telavi /
Tsinandali / Sighnaghi / Tbilisi
After sightseeing of Telavi, we will
visit the new technological factory
Teliani Valley, founded in 1997. It
is a successor of the traditional
Georgian wine production using the
modern technologies and the
knowledge of motivated young
professionals. Leaving for a
beautiful village of Tsinandali.
We’ll visit the amazing botanical
garden and the Museum of Prince
Alexandre Chavchavadze, notable
Georgian poet, Tsinandali Wine
Factory and the enoteca with the
Collection of the oldest wines.
Drive to Sighnaghi, famous with its
wines and carpets. The way takes us
to Temo Papa’s private cellar, the
travelers’ favorite place.
Grandfather Temo is a representative
of the Kakhetian peasant, very kind
and hospitable. Return to Tbilisi.

Day 5 |

Tbilisi /
Mtskheta / Ateni / Ambrolauri
We are leaving for one of the most
beautiful villages of Kartli – Ateni
after passing Mtskheta (UNESCO
Heritage Site), the ancient capital
of Georgia. On the way we will visit
Jvari Monastery (6th c.) and a
gracious Svetitskhoveli Cathedral
(11th c.). You will enjoy the
fascinating landscapes of Ateni
gorge, and visit Ateni Sioni Church
(7th c.). We will taste wine Atenuri.
Drive to Racha in the evening.

Day 6 |
|
Ambrolauri
/ Utsera / Shovi
Today we’ll enjoy the most beautiful
nature of Rioni Gorge and Caucasus
snow covered Mountains. We will
leave for Shovi resort. On our way
we stop at the resort of Utsera that
is famous for its curative springs.
In the afternoon we will go back to
Ambrolauri. On our way we will visit
Barakoni Church of the Mother of God
(18th c.). Wine-testing at
Ambrolauri Wine Factory.

Day 7 |
|
Ambrolauri
/ Bugeuli
After visiting Nicortsminda (11th
c.) one of the most unique churches
in Georgia, we will visit wine
factory in the village of
Khvanchkara. We’ll taste Khvanchkara,
naturally semi-sweet wine of local
production and white semi-dry wine
Tetra. We will see villages built on
slopes of the hills in the village
of Bugeuli and visit Bugeuli Wine
Factory. Alexandreuli Company owns a
plant of primary treatment and
bottling located in the settlement
of Bugeuli and occupying 2 hectares
of land area including subsidiary
buildings. The plant is equipped
with modern technologies. Here, the
leader wines of Khvanchkara,
Barakoni, Alexandreuli and Tetra
with the quality consistent and the
international standards are bottled.
At present, the plant has the output
and capability sufficient to treat
about 250 tones of raw material
(grape) and to realize its product.
Annual output of the plant is 1
million bottles of wine.

Ambrolauri
/ Lechkhumi / Kutaisi
Leaving for Lechkhumi, the
neighboring region of Racha. In the
village of Orbeli we will taste the
wines of local winemakers’
production: Tvishi, Usakhelouri and
Ojaleshi. Drive to Imereti.

Kutaisi
Visiting Bagrati Temple (11th c.)
and Gelati Monastery (12th c.), the
UNESCO Heritage sites. Motsameta
Monastery Complex (8th-11th c.c.),
beautifully situated between the
valleys of two rivers near Kutaisi.
Sataplia Grotto, where the
step-prints of dinosaurs are found.

Tbilisi / Departure
Drive to Tbilisi. Tbilisi
sightseeing: Metekhi Church (13th
c.); Old Tbilisi; Sulphur Baths;
Narikala Fortress (4th c.); Sioni
(13th c.) and Anchiskhati Churches
(6th c.); Trinity Cathedral (the 2nd
ML). Leaving Party at the National
Restaurant with the folk concert.
